Dana’s Annual Dolphin Experience for New Students

 The Dolphin Experience, an eagerly anticipated event for teachers and incoming families, unfolded on Monday, January 12th, from 5:30 to 7:00 PM, at Dana Hills High School. This event was thoughtfully designed to warmly welcome the incoming freshmen and provide them with an introductory glimpse into their new high school environment. It commenced with an energetic pep rally, setting a lively tone for the event. Following the rally, the incoming students, accompanied by their families and friends, had the chance to explore the gymnasium and school. The space was filled with various booths and informational stations, offering insights into theschool’s diverse sports programs and academic departments. “The main purpose is to invite our prospective incoming students, both transfer and incoming 9th graders, to come and get a really in depth look at what Dana has to offer,” Principal Brittany Casey stated. There were dedicated booths staffed by teachers, students, and coaches eager to meet with the new students and parents. Beyond academics and extracurricular activities, the event was infused with fun and games. spike ball and corn hole were available, providing a relaxed and social atmosphere where students could create new friendships. The atmosphere throughout the Dolphin Experience was notably welcoming and friendly. The Dolphin Experience at Dana Hills High School was extremely successful, as the principal Casey said, “Really confident and happy of the outcome of the dolphin experience, attendance was really great.” By blending informative resources with engaging activities, the event created a sense of belonging and excitement amongst the Dolphin pod.
