Court Candidates Announced: Top Fifteen Boys and Girls

It’s homecoming season once more at Dana Hills, and the top 30 seniors have officially been voted into the court. Voting opened up bright and early at 8 a.m. on Sep. 8, and commenced on September 15. The first round of voting was only open to seniors, who could vote via a link from the official senior instagram. Students’ identities were verified via their school ID, in order to ward off any cheating. Two days later, on September 17, the boys were announced at lunch via a cohort of western dancers. The Top 15 boys consisted of Creed Collings, J.J. Areola, Brody DaPena, Thompson Foulger, Nolan Mundy, Grant Hudson, Luke Hanley, Abram Garfinkle, Charlie Chiaverini, Jaiden Guzman, Colton Wall, Tyler Daems, Evan Weiss, Charlie Eckl and Alex Baxendale. Charlie Chiaverini remarked that he’s most excited to do the Pep Rally; “The partnered dances look so fun! Also, I think my mom would be really excited to walk at the homecoming football game.” Chiaverini hopes to be an example of how friendly the senior class is, “everyone I talk to is so kind, and I try to reciprocate that energy.” The next day, the girls were announced, this time with a beach-party themed dance from the boys. The Top 15 girls are listed as Anna Scott, Angeli Dresnin, Paige Miller, Hadley Fox, Audrina Mason, Anna Fazzalaro, Zara Baxendale, Mia Lagestee, Sarah Gholson, Lexie Spina, Ella Macy, Brooklyn May, London Hills and Sydney Freeborn. When asked about what she’s looking forward to the most as a member of court, Sydney Freeborn said she’s “excited to see all [her] friends get nominated and watching them win.” The Top 12 seniors are set to be announced today at lunch, and they hope to see you there in support.
