The Dana Hills Football Team has had an amazing season with a record of 8-1. Currently, the Dolphins are ranked 41st in the state of California and first in Southern Section 6th Division. With the regular season drawing to a close, the team finds itself with only one remaining game in the Foxtrot league games against the Northwood Timberwolves on Oct. 30. On Oct. 24, our team’s winning streak was broken by the Laguna Beach Breakers, with a score of 40-49, the same team that broke the Dolphins’ streak last year. The week prior on Oct. 17, the Dolphins played Fountain Valley and had a great win 49-13, securing their play-off bid. The homecoming game on Oct. 10 also brought us a victory of 49-28 against the Orange Panthers, one of the toughest teams the Dolphins have played against so far this season. Before that, the Dolphins faced off against the Aliso Niguel Wolverines on Friday, October 3rd, and went on to secure a 35-14 victory, sending the student section onto the field in celebration. Senior linebacker William Reardon praised the team atmosphere on the field, saying, “The student sections have been great, and I think it’s hard for our opponent to focus when the student section is going crazy.” Senior linebacker Thompson Foulger added, “It is easy to get momentum with the student section.” Both Reardon and Foulger attribute the team’s success to their ability to work together and execute the assignments given to them. The team’s pregame routine has been described as “Locked in and dialed” by Trevor Blackmore, who added that “Every game we come in expecting to meet all the goals and to win.” Overall, the Dolphins have had a stellar run and have put in a lot of time and effort.
