Wins over Mission Viejo 3-0 on August 21 and Edison 3-0 on August 19 highlighted their strength. Mixed results continued with losses to Edison 2-0 and Tesoro 2-0 on August 16, but victories against South Volleyball 2-1 and Poway 2-1 on August 15 boosted morale. The season opened with a 3-0 win over Canyon on August 12, followed by a 3-0 loss to Laguna Beach on August 14. The younger girls are figuring out why they truly want to play.”
